Awards for Matt Liddy's Mandolin making
This craftsmanship of musical instrument making runs deep
in the Liddy family. In 2002 John Liddy's son, Matt, was honoured in the South
Australian Woodworking Competition as Young Achiever of the Year, and in the
National Woodworking with the Australian Young Achiever Of The Year. This
was for an A-style mandolin made as a year long high school project. Matt Liddy became the
first to win Young Achiever Of The Year for expertise in musical instrument making.
